home theater, lcd hdtvNow that we have our home theater all set up, it's time to organize it. Before we bought our new LCD HDTV we had no idea how nice it was and now we're really enjoying it. We can get such fine entertainment at home so all the money we put into our home theater is money well spent. In fact, since we're staying at home instead of going to concerts and movies, we're actually money ahead by having our home theater. We rent most of our DVDs, but buy CDs left and right and want to get them organized. We have outgrown our current bookcases where we store the discs, but today when shopping online, I ran across this attractive cabinet for home theater storage.

It's the Atlantic - Oskar Multimedia Floor Rack and it's so reasonably priced that we ordered it today. It's 71"high, 40" wide, and just 9" deep. It is supposed to be able to hold 1,080 CDs or 504 DVDs. I had no idea that CDs were so much smaller than DVDs, but I guess they are. It is shipped and the seller says that it is supposed to go together really easily. We've put lots of other knock down furniture together before, so this won't be a big challenge, at all. Right now we've got our CDs and DVDs scattered all over, so consolidating them in one cabinet will be a good thing to do. We'll organize them by artist or title and that job should occupy us for a few hours over our Thanksgiving holiday.

We found the shelves for our home theater at Super Stop Entertainment located at http://www.superstopentertainment.com. I love shopping online, and I'll have to say this is the first piece of furniture I've purchased. But why not? I bought my hardwood flooring online for the entire house and it was delivered right to the front door in easy to move boxes, so I'm sure this will be no different. We got an incredible deal on the flooring ($1 a square foot), and were thrilled with the quality of what we got, so now we'll start buying furniture online, too, to choose from wider selections and get better prices.

From the picture, it looks like a maple finish on this unit, although it could be a light oak, too. In any case, it will be filled with all our media, including our old VHS tapes that we can't part with. It'll be so nice to get everything in one place for our home theater so we don't spend half an hour searching for something. After a few hours work organizing, we'll be all set to watch movies or listen to music on our home theater.
