Paper Thin 1080p HDTV of the Future |

The video below is from 2007 but it is a shining example of what the future will hold for the 1080p HDTV screen. We are already seeing some ultra thin LCD HDTV monitors for sale within online stores. They are a far cry from tube TVs many of us still have in at least one room of the house. The future is paper thin and flexible. These are the 1080p HDTV screens that will be able to go anywhere, project anything and transform the way we think of TVs.
The technology is way beyond my pay grade of comprehension but it is cool to look at. A screen like this could transform anything from a newspaper to a portion of the wall into a screen. It reminds me of Minority Report. This movie really captured what the future may be like. It is always hard to judge this sort of thing because things change, perceptions shift and if research money dries up so do ideas. Just look at the Jetsons or old science magazine predictions for what 2000 and beyond would look like. They are much more space oriented then we are. All I know is the home theater and 1080p HDTV of the future is going to be breathtaking.
