For three months before my wife and I got married people would ask us what we needed. My answer was always the same. We needed an LCD HDTV. Well, maybe we didn't need it, but I sure wanted one! My wife would tell everyone to sign up for the registry at an online store she found that had a lot of different kitchen, bath, and furniture stuff. I really don't care for towels, appliances (unless it is a coffee maker), or a coffee table. What I did care about is an LCD HDTV. So, I began to start dropping hints. Whenever someone would come over to our apartment to watch something we would watch it on our old 19" television. When I was at my mom's house I would tell her about a website I saw that had an LCD HDTV for 35% less than the store in town. I even went so far as to send people a video I found on the Internet of a funny LCD HDTV wall hanging snafu. In the end, my scheming worked. Two days after our wedding a package arrived from an uncle in Texas. He had bought an LCD HDTV from an online store and had it delivered to us. He said the video was a nice touch.
