Activision Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009
I have never thrown on a reflective vest, sprayed some deer urine on my jeans and climbed into a hide to lie in wait for a trophy buck in real life but thanks to Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009 I can do just that and then some from the safe confines of my apartment’s LCD HDTV and home theater. The concept of this title is you, the gamer pick up as a world renowned big game hunter named Flint who has recently lost his just as straight shooting mentor to a grizzly bear attack. Be careful your home theater isn’t turned up to high with this one because during the 1080p HDTV missions big game like lions, tigers and bears…oh my will pop out of the brush and try to take you the way of your late mentor.

The Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts LCD HDTV trailer above will give you an idea of what kind of fierce exotic game you will be up against in this first person shooter. You will travel around the world helping locals exterminate animal problems, track trophy game, and even have to catch smaller animals to string up as bait for the bigger prey. I hadn’t seen any 1080p HDTV commercials for this one which came out a bit ago but I did find it for cheap at an online retailer called Super Stop Entertainment at http://www.superstopentertainment.com/. An Xbox 360 game, less then a few years old for 30 dollars is a steal in my mind.
For fans of first person shooters, this one may be a nice change of pace. Instead of hunting down digital enemies who walk on two legs, why not try a hand at the world’s most dangerous four legged hunts? This was the question I asked myself before previewing this title. One of the craziest parts of Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009 is that when an animal does charge and the gamer isn’t able to sight it in with the rifle then it will become time to use in-game hands to fight of the furry beasts mano y mano. Rated teen this game may sound like a violent shooter but the gore is much more subdued then many of the military based first person shooters. What really stuck out to me in the trailer above is how much of the game is based around trekking across African, jungle and domestic environments battling the harsh environments in between sighting in animals. Super Shop Entertainment is really onto something selling Xbox 360 for such great prices.
