I couldn’t believe my eyes when I toured a new school that was opening this week in our neighborhood and saw that they were using bookshelf speakers in almost every single classroom. Since this going to be a private school, I can’t say that I now know where our taxpayer dollars are going, but I have to admit that I was extremely impressed by not only the bookshelf speakers in each classroom, but also the overall look of the entire school.
Because it’s in our neighborhood, I wanted to stop in and take one of the tours that were offered as a way to offer support of the school being there. What I didn’t expect was that the school would have a home theater system that puts any that I’ve ever seen to shame, and that there are several rooms which have a LCD HDTV for when they want to gather the students in one area and show news or other programs. These rooms not only have bookshelf speakers and LCD HDTV, but also ceiling speakers as well. The curriculum they are offering is extremely impressive, with some of the best teachers in the area. I don’t know anyone who is sending their children there, but I don’t think it will be long before the classrooms are full.
