1080p hdtv, home theaterComing into my first year of college Texas Hold’em became a favorite past time. It was a combination of a dorm-mate who almost had a problem playing cards all night and those first few feelings of winning. For years, I played at apartments, dorms, garages and small poker rooms. I never got into online though. Then one day I just stopped playing. My love for Texas Hold’em is showing its face again after playing three times in the past two weeks. It had been a solid year since I actually played a good tournament and cash game. My skills were rusty so I turned to the LCD HDTV for assistance.

There is always poker on late at night so I started watching it. On a 1080p HDTV, it is very easy to see and try to read the players’ faces. As I watched how they played certain hands, I remembered how powerful it can be to slow play correctly. Baiting others on the table into a spider web of chips by the river is an art. I improved after watching poker over the home theater.  An unexpected check, check, bet, check usually works.
