garmin gps, home theater

When I first received my Garmin GPS navigation unit I thought that I would never use it. That is until a fateful hiking day trip proved to be the perfect time to do so.

Bobby had just taken out his Canon digital camera and took some really good shots of birds of prey fishing. Michael and I were sitting on some large rocks checking out my Garmin GPS and the pre-programmed spots that were in the area. Right about the time we were going to start heading back to our trucks, the storm hit. One minute it was blue skys and warm, the next minute the temperature had dropped thirty degrees and it started pouring down sheets oh hard rain and sleet. We took up cover under a large cliff overhang, and tried to use our cell phones, no reception. Michael suggested we look through the GPS units pre-programmed spots to see if we could find an old forestry cabin.

That Garmin GPS navigation unit saved all of our lives. We found an old forestry service cabin that was about a mile from our location and spent the night dry and warm from the old wood stove. There was even cast iron cooking pots and canned food. Pork and beans never tasted so good. But we all did agree on one thing, it would be a whole better if we were at home listening to our home theater systems and watching it all on a projection television..
