I don't mean to sound like my husband has a bad sense of direction. However, it does seem like every time we go somewhere, we end up getting lost. At least until I bought him a Garmin GPS navigation device. Now, I make sure that anytime we leave to go somewhere, the Garmin GPS navigation device is in the car, working, and up to date.

To make matters worse, my husband loves to travel. We routinely take 8 to 10 trips every year. Usually once a month we will take off to another state to just spend some time driving around the countryside. What usually happens is we spend a lot of time trying to find our way back to the main highway. What he calls an unplanned scenic adventure I call being lost. But, the Garmin GPS navigation device has changed all of that.

Last year is a great example of why I had to finally buy him a Garmin GPS nagivation device. We were heading to Colorado for some skiing for a few days. We did actually make it to Colorado, but we didn't have anytime for skiing. We spent most of the time stuck on a back road, on the backside of a mountain. We were snowed in for three days! At least we had enough clothes, blankets, and food so that we weren't in any immediate danger. When the rescuers found us they were laughing because nobody had been on that road for about two years. My husband said it was a shortcut.

After that little foray into the mountains of Colorado I decided that I was going to look for a Garmin GPS navigation device. I started looking at the stores around our town, but didn't really find anything that would help. Plus they were quite expensive.
